With a career-high five goals and five assists for 10 points, Komisarek leads U-M's blueliners in goals and points and enters this weekend's series with Ferris State on a two-game goal-scoring streak, equalling the longest of his career. The seventh pick overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Komisarek has already surpassed his goal total from 40 games last season (4) after 13 appearances.
Komisarek is the third U-M player to earn a CCHA Player of the Week award this season, joining senior goaltender Josh Blackburn (Choctaw, Okla.), who was named Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 5, and freshman forward Eric Nystrom (Syosset, N.Y.), who copped CCHA Rookie of the Week honors on Nov. 19.
Michigan (6-5-2, 4-3-2 CCHA), ranked ninth in the latest USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll, returns to CCHA action this weekend, taking on the Ferris State Bulldogs (7-5-1, 5-5-1 CCHA) in a two-game, home-and-home series on Friday and Saturday (Nov. 30-Dec. 1). The Wolverines will travel to Big Rapids, Mich., on Friday to face the Bulldogs at FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena before returning to Ann Arbor on Saturday to close out the series at Yost Ice Arena. Opening faceoff for both nights is slated for 7:35 p.m.
