Kyle Venter is in his first season as an assistant coach for the Michigan women's soccer team in 2026 after spending three seasons at Iowa with head coach Dave DiIanni.
"I am incredibly excited to be joining the University of Michigan women’s soccer staff," Venter said. "I am truly grateful for Dave’s confidence in me and ecstatic to continue working alongside him, as well as JP and Addie. Michigan is a brand recognized across the country, and I look forward to relentlessly pursuing the standard of the Block M both on and off the field with our staff -- and most importantly, our student-athletes each and every day. Kyle Venter
- Spent three seasons at Iowa, helping in all aspects including player evaluation and recruiting
- Iowa went 40-13-12 in three seasons with three NCAA tournament appearances and a Big Ten Tournament title
- Prior to Iowa, spent a year at Cincinnati where he helped improve the Bearcats' defense by half a goal year-over-year (1.53 in 2021 to 1.00 in 2022)
- He also served as interim head coach in the fall of 2022 after a leadership change at Cincinnati
- Venter spent the 2021 season at Florida as an assistant coach and mentored goalie Alexa Goldberg to SEC-leading 4.80 saves per game
- Started coaching career at Arizona in 2019 as volunteer before an elevation to assistant in November 2020
- Played seven years professionally after being drafted 23rd overall in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft by the LA Galaxy
- Helped the LAÂ Galaxy win the MLS Cup in his rookie season and played for five other professional teams
- Graduate of University of New Mexico, where he was the programs first three-time All-AmericanÂ
- Helped the Lobos to the 2013 NCAA College Cup
- Earned Conference USA Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors
- Finished career as New Mexico's all-time leader in minutes played (7,859) and earned Senior CLASS Award Team honors
- Earned a bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in human resources management and organizational leadership in December 2013
