
Pricco Fourth in Steeplechase, U-M 15th After Day Two at B1G Outdoor Championships

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team continued competition at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships on Saturday (May 16) at the Nebraska Outdoor Track, ending day two in 15th place with five points.
Junior Hannah Pricco earned five points for the Maize and Blue in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing fourth with a time of 10:14.87. Caroline Beiting placed 18th (11:04.99).
Freshman Emmry Ross will represent the Wolverines in the 800-meter finals on Sunday, running 2:02.81 in the prelims to advance on time. Coraline Haggarty ran a personal-best 2:05.82 and Alyna Lewis ran 2:10.72.
Payton Smith ran 52.70 seconds in the 400-meter prelims, just 0.15 shy of qualifying for the finals, while Trinity Henderson posted a time of 55.16. In the 100-meter dash, Keyanna O'Tey ran 11.58.
In the long jump, Amare Harlan finished 12th with a mark of 6.02 meters (19 feet, 9 inches) while Maya Anderson finished 15th (5.93m/19-5.5). Kourtney Rathke placed 24th with a mark of 5.83m (19-1.5).
Elizabeth Tapper led a Wolverine contingent in the shot put with a 13th-place finish (15.81m/51-8). Trinity Franklin finished 18th with a mark of 15.51m (50-10.75) and Abigail Russell finished just behind in 19th with a mark of 15.40m (50-6.25).
Gabriella Newman cleared 1.72m (5-7.75) in the high jump to finish 12th.
U-M will close out the Big Ten Championships on Sunday (May 17), opening the final day at 12:34 p.m. CT with the 4x100-meter relay.
