
Wolverines to Remain on Road for Spec Towns Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team will head to Athens, Ga., for the Spec Towns Invitational, Thursday through Saturday (April 9-11). Action at the Spec Towns Track begins at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday and at noon on Friday and Saturday.
Notes
• U-M sits at No. 1 in the Great Lakes Region and No. 3 in the Big Ten in the latest USTFCCCA rankings.
• The shot put event squad (Elizabeth Tapper, Trinity Franklin, Abigail Russell and Janey Campbell) is ranked No. 1 in the NCAA while the 1,500-meter run event squad (Samantha Hastie, Penelopea Gordon, Hannah Pricco and Emmry Ross) is ranked No. 5. The 800-meter squad of Ross, Hastie, Gordon and Coraline Haggarty comes in at No. 6.
• The Wolverines remain on the road after competing at the Florida Relays hosted by Florida on April 3-4.
• The 4x100-meter relay squad of Alyssa Bean, Amare Harlan, Myla Wilkes and Keyanna O'Tey finished fifth in the preliminary round with a time of 44.17 seconds and was fifth in the finals in 44.37. The preliminary time is No. 2 on the program performers list and just 0.07 seconds shy of the program record.
• Bean, Payton Smith, Sidney Green and Trinity Henderson ran 3:33.54 in the 4x400-meter relay for the No. 8 mark on the program performers list and a sixth-place finish.
• In the 400-meter run, Smith placed 12th with a personal-best time of 52.77, and Bean placed 25th with 53.94. The times come in at No. 3 and No. 10, respectively, on the program performers list.
• O'Tey ran 11.51 in the 100-meter dash for the No. 3 time on the program performers list, while Harlan ran a personal-best 11.63, good for No. 6 on the program performers list. Harlan also jumped a personal-best 6.16 meters (20 feet, 2.5 inches) in the long jump for No. 7 on the program performers list and a sixth-place finish.
• U-M will split between the Wake Forest Invitational on Thursday and Friday, April 16-17, and the Big Red Classic on Friday and Saturday, April 17-18.
