96 Wolverines Collect Winter Academic All-Big Ten Accolades

ROSEMONT, Ill. -- The Big Ten Conference announced its 2025-26 Winter Academic All-Big Ten honorees on Wednesday (March 18), with 96 University of Michigan student-athletes from eight different teams earning the recognition.
Criteria for making the Academic All-Big Ten team include being in at least their second academic year at their institution and maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
The breakdown of Michigan student-athletes on the list is 19 from men's swim and dive, 14 from men's gymnastics, 13 from both men's ice hockey and women's gymnastics, 12 from wrestling, 11 from women's swim and dive and seven apiece from men's and women's basketball.
Michigan had six student-athletes with perfect 4.0 GPAs, including women's gymnastics' Carly Bauman and Lily Clapper, women's swim and dive's Brady Kendall and Letitia Sim, and wrestling's Taye Ghadiali and Joseph Walker.
The conference office also awards Academic All-Big Ten distinction in the spring season and the Distinguished Scholar Award at the end of the academic year. Student-athletes eligible for the Distinguished Scholar Award must be letterwinners in at least their second year in residence at their institution. Qualifying student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.7 or higher for the current academic year, excluding summer school.
