COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Three freshmen from the No. 4-ranked University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team competed at the Last Chance Meet on Sunday (March 1) at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
Milla Drakopoulos swam the 200-yard backstroke and posted an NCAA qualifying time of 1:52.92, a new personal best and nearly half a second faster than her mark at the Big Ten Championships.
Montse Spielmann competed in the 200-yard butterfly and recorded a qualifying time of 1:56.85. Spielmann earned All-Big Ten Freshman Team honors for her performance at the Big Ten Championships.
Rounding out the Michigan swimmers, Sarah Pasquella clocked a time of 2:11.78 in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Michigan returns to action on March 9, when the diving team travels to Ypsilanti, Mich., for the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships.
