ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan men's basketball Class of 2026 signee Quinn Costello has been named a McDonald's All-American and is scheduled to suit up with the West squad at the annual all-star game scheduled to be played on Tuesday, March 31, at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Ariz.
Costello becomes the 25th player in program history to earn the prestigious honor and gives U-M back-to-back McDonald's All-Americans, following Trey McKenney, a member of the Class of 2025.
A 6-foot-10 forward, Costello is a four-star prospect who ranks among the nation's top 10 power forwards and has surged from an under-the-radar recruit to a top-50 national prospect, entering his senior season ranked No. 44.
The Medford, Mass., native surged during the summer of 2025 on the Under Armour Circuit with the Middlesex Magic, averaging 11.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. He carried that momentum into the Pangos All-American Camp, where he delivered another standout showing and earned co–Most Outstanding Player honors.
Now in his senior season at The Newman School, Costello is posting 16.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.1 steals per game. A year earlier, he contributed 6.9 points per game off the bench as a junior (2024–25), playing a key role in Newman's NEPSAC AAA championship run.
Costello becomes the fifth Wolverine named a McDonald's All-American since 2020, joining McKenney, Kobe Bufkin, Moussa Diabate and Caleb Houstan (Class of 2021).
