
Michigan Finishes 10th at B1G Indoor Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team concluded action at the Big Ten Indoor Championships on Saturday (Feb. 28) at Fall Creek Pavilion, tying for 10th place with 25 points.
Oregon won the team title for the second straight year with 101 points, while Illinois (93) and USC (81) round out the top three.
Samantha Hastie picked up four points for U-M with a fifth-place finish in the mile run (4:41.73).
In the 60-meter dash, Amare Harlan placed eighth with a time of 7.43 seconds. Chyler Turner recorded a personal best of 8.21 seconds to finish sixth and earn three points.
Elizabeth Tapper finished fourth in the shot put with a season-best mark of 17.38 meters (57 feet, 0.25 inches) while Abigail Russell finished 12th (15.81m/51-10.5).
A trio of Wolverines logged personal-best times in the 3,000-meter run, with Brooke Johnston's 17th-place finish and personal-best time of 9:21.61 leading the effort. Anjali Hocker Singh finished 22nd (9:31.02), Rylee Tolson finished 30th (9:35.85), Hannah Pricco finished 31st (9:36.04) and Caroline Beiting finished 33rd (9:38.15). Hocker Singh and Beiting both ran personal bests.
Michigan will close out its indoor season at the NCAA Championships on Friday and Saturday, March 13-14, in Fayetteville, Ark.
