
U-M to Celebrate Seniors, Host Minnesota During Final Regular-Season Series

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan will honor its senior class this week when the No. 2-ranked University of Michigan ice hockey team (25-6-1, 16-5-1 Big Ten) hosts Minnesota (10-19-2, 6-13-1 Big Ten). Games are scheduled for Thursday (Feb. 26) at 6:30 p.m., and Friday (Feb. 27) at 6 p.m. inside Yost Ice Arena, with both contests to be broadcast live on Big Ten Network.

• Beach Party -- Bring the summer vibes to Yost. Fans are encouraged to dress in their favorite beachwear (Hawaiian shirts, leis, sunglasses).

• Following the conclusion of Friday's game, fans are encouraged to stay for the annual Senior Day ceremony. Michigan will honor seniors Kienan Draper, Tyler Duke, Josh Eernisse, Luca Fantilli, T.J. Hughes, along with recent addition Grant Neuhardt.
• Michigan is ranked second in the nation for the second straight week and in the NPI. The Wolverines enter the final week of the regular season with a 25-6-1 overall record.
• Michigan holds a one-point advantage in the Big Ten standings, sitting in first place with 46 points. Michigan State trails with 45, but has four games remaining. Minnesota is in sixth place with 22 points and has another series next weekend, while Michigan has a bye week.
• The Wolverines have the strongest strength of schedule in college hockey, followed by Minnesota. Five of the 10 strongest schedules belong to Big Ten teams.
• Michigan went 2-0 in Minneapolis last month, winning 5-1 and 3-2 in overtime to secure five of six points. All-time, the Wolverines are 140-156-21 in the series, the only series in the Big Ten in which they trail. Last February at Yost, Michigan and Minnesota played in two overtime games, with the Wolverines winning 3-2 on Friday before a 2-2 draw and shootout win on Saturday.
• Five Big Ten teams are among the top 10 most penalized teams in the nation, with Michigan third with 536 penalty minutes. The Wolverines do have the second-most short-handed goals in the country (nine), with senior Josh Eernisse netting three.
• Michigan and Minnesota have strong power-play units, with Michigan second at 30.4 percent while Minnesota is at 29.5 percent. Will Horcoff leads with 10 mad-advantage goals for Michigan, ranking him third in the nation, while Minnesota's Brodie Ziemer has 11, good for a first-place tie. Horcoff also continues to lead the nation in game-winning goals with seven.
• Michigan continues to average more than four goals per game, currently at 4.53, ranking first in the nation. Hobey Baker candidate T.J. Hughes paces the offense with 44 points, including 16 goals and 28 assists. Michael Hage is one point back with 43 points, which includes a team-high 31 assists. Horcoff follows with a team-best 22 goals and 12 helpers for 34 points, and Jayden Perron has 31 points.
