Notes
• Michigan earned its first ranked win of the season on Saturday (Oct. 31) against No. 19 Indiana in four sets, the second straight year it has beaten a ranked opponent on Halloween, after beating No. 19 Penn State in 2025. Facing off against No. 1 Nebraska on Friday (Oct. 30), the Maize and Blue took the first set to hand the Huskers their second set loss in conference play before falling in four hard-fought sets. The Wolverines split all five weekends in October.
• The Wolverines have performed as one of the best offenses in the nation, sitting top 15 nationally in kills and assists per set, ranking 13th in the country in assists per set (13.14), and 15th in kills per set (13.99). In total, Michigan has recorded 1,189 kills and 1,117 assists -- both top-five marks in the Big Ten -- and ranks sixth in the conference with a .270 hitting percentage.
• Ella Demetrician recorded match-high kill totals in both of last week's games, including a 21-kill, 13-dig double-double on Friday. In the winning effort against Indiana, Demetrician fell just short of her ninth double-double of the season with 20 kills and nine digs. Demetrician leads the Big Ten with 360 kills and ranks third in kills per set with 4.24.
• Morgan Burke steered the offense with 57 assists across two matches, moving her season total to 557. Burke leads the team in both assists and service aces (29) and ranks third in digs (163). In three career matches against Rutgers, she has totaled 132 assists for a per-set average of 9.43, including 54 assists in a five-set victory in 2024. She also became just the seventh Wolverine to reach 3,000 career assists, doing so against Indiana.
• Cymarah Gordon recorded 16 kills in both matches over the weekend. She is fifth in the conference in total kills with 286 on a .315 hitting percentage. Defensively, Gordon also places third on the squad in total blocks with 61, including four blocks over the weekend.
• Freshman Meredith Martin leads the Big Ten in digs (337) and ranks second in digs per set (3.96), including a match-high 15 on Saturday. Across both games, she had 27 digs and 12 assists. The libero became the third player on the team to eclipse 100 assists this season and has contributed five kills and seven service aces. Martin passed Jenna Lerg over the weekend and now sits fifth all-time in program history among freshmen in digs.

She is one of five on the team who have cleared the century mark in kills (121) and ranks second on the squad with 64 total blocks.

The Scarlet Knights broke a nine-game losing streak with a five-set victory over Northwestern on Saturday (Oct. 31). Michigan carries a 14-game win streak against RU into Thursday's matchup, having not lost since 2014.
• Maryland brings a record of 12-11 into Saturday's matchup, with seven of those wins coming at home.
