ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan men's tennis head coach Sean Maymi announced Wednesday (Jan. 7) the addition of Benjamin Azar to the Wolverines program. Azar will join the team in the fall of 2026.

Benjamin Azar | Toronto, Ontario

• No. 1 ranked Canadian junior tennis player
• ITF Junior ranking No. 68 in the world
• UTR rating of 12.5
• Won multiple international singles titles, including J200 Montreal (September 2025) and J100 San Jose (May 2025)
• Captured doubles title at the J100 Verbier (July 2025)
• Won gold for Team Ontario at the 2025 Canada Summer Games
• Currently training in Italy
