ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- In collaboration with Complete Sports Management, the University of Michigan men's basketball program announced Tuesday (Sept. 2) that it will face St. John's in a preseason exhibition game at Madison Square Garden.
The matchup, part of the Bad Boy Mowers Series, is set for Saturday, Oct. 25, with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m. The television broadcast details are to be determined.
The exhibition will provide the Wolverines with a prime preseason opportunity against the Red Storm, all set on one of basketball's grandest stages -- The World's Most Famous Arena. This matchup also marks a return to New York City for the Maize and Blue, which took on Arkansas last season in the prestigious Jimmy V Classic.
Michigan holds a 2–4 all-time record against St. John's, with three of those meetings taking place at Madison Square Garden. The most recent contest came during the 2023 Gavitt Tipoff Games, where the Wolverines earned a convincing 89–73 victory. Notably, five of the six matchups between these programs have been held at neutral-site venues, continuing a tradition of high-profile, non-conference showdowns.
Ticket pre-sales open Tuesday (Sept. 2) at noon and end Wednesday (Sept. 3) at 11 a.m. All ticketing is via Ticketmaster.
