DEXTER, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's cross country team opened the 2025 season at home on Friday (Aug. 29), hosting the Michigan Open at the Hudson Mills Metropark.
The Wolverines raced against Bowling Green, Akron, Toledo and Siena Heights and saw four top 10 finishes.
Sophomore Stephanie Bertram made her Maize and Blue debut, finishing first with a time of 17:34.5
Penelopea Gordon (17:52.9), Gabbie Michael (17:53.1) and Anjali Hocker Singh (17:53.8) went 5-6-7 and rounded out the top-10 finishers. Michael shaved more than a minute off her personal best, while Gordon was just 0.4 seconds shy of hers.
Leah Hill posted a personal-best time of 18:12.9 and finished 16th. Sophie Cloutier made her collegiate debut, finishing 19th (18:23.0).
All Wolverines competing in uniform or unattached finished with a time under 20 minutes.
U-M will return to action on Friday, Sept. 12, for the Spartan Invite/B1G Preview hosted by Michigan State in East Lansing, Mich.
