ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's tennis team earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team honors, while three Wolverines were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, the organization announced Monday (July 21).
Patorn Hanchaikul, Mert Oral and Nicholas Steiglehner claimed ITA Scholar-Athlete distinction, earning a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the 2024-25 academic year.
This is the third time all three players have captured the honor.
Michigan, as a team, qualified for the award by having a team grade-point average of 3.2 or above, on a 4.0 scale. This marks the sixth straight season the team has earned the honor.
It has been a summer of academic honors for the Wolverine trio, which also earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team honors. The three players along with Gavin Young were named Big Ten Distinguished Scholars on July 14 and the four were joined on the Academic All-Big Ten team by Alex Cairo, Will Cooksey and Bjorn Swenson.
