Notes
• The No. 3-ranked Wolverines (26-4) have advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA for the third straight season and the fourth time in program history. U-M has advanced to the quarterfinals in 2016, 2023 and 2024. The final three rounds of the tournament are being held at Baylor.
• The Wolverines are up to 26 wins this season, the second-most in program history. U-M set the record last season with 29 wins, going 29-4. Michigan also won 26 matches in 2015 before falling to Georgia in the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
• U-M and Oklahoma State faced each other earlier this season at the Varsity Tennis Center, with Michigan recording a 4-2 win on Feb. 21. OSU took the doubles point and a win at No. 4 singles to account for its two points. Michigan got singles wins from Julia Fliegner, Piper Charney, Lily Jones and Reese Miller to get the win. Charney provided the clincher with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2.
• This will mark the sixth time over the last three seasons that the Wolverines and Cowgirls have squared off. U-M swept a pair during the 2023 season, beating OSU to punch its ticket to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship and again one week later at the VTC. Oklahoma State returned the favor last season, winning the season opener in Stillwater and beating U-M in the championship match of the 2024 ITA National Team Indoor Championship. U-M is 1-0 against Oklahoma State this season after recording the aforementioned 4-2 win in Ann Arbor this season.
• Michigan is 3-3 all-time against Oklahoma State after playing the Cowgirls five times over the past three seasons. The other match between the teams came during the 1984 season.
• Oklahoma State is the only unseeded team remaining in the NCAA Tournament. Michigan earned the No. 3 seed for the second straight season, tying its best seed in program history.
• Oklahoma State is the fourth team that Michigan is facing for another time this season. U-M went 2-0 against Texas, 2-0 against UCLA and 2-1 against Ohio State.
• Charney is up to 35 singles wins on the season, tied for the sixth-most in a single season by a Wolverine. She has recorded back-to-back 30-win seasons to start her career, compiling 72 singles wins the last two seasons.
• Fliegner was named Michigan's female recipient of the Big Ten Medal of Honor, becoming just the third women's tennis player to earn the prestigious award in program history. She is up to 112 singles wins in her illustrious career, ranking sixth all-time.
• U-M has four ranked singles players in Fliegner (No. 6), Charney (No. 21), Jones (No. 46) and Emily Sartz-Lunde (No. 68). Jones and Jessica Bernales come in at No. 18 as a doubles pair, with Bernales and Charney teaming up to be ranked No. 40. Miller and Fliegner are back in the latest rankings as a pair, ranking No. 45.
• Head coach Ronni Bernstein is in her 18th season as the head coach, holding a 549-196 overall coaching record. She is currently eighth nationally among active coaches in wins. Bernstein ranks 18th all-time in victories.
• The semifinals of the NCAA Tournament are set for Saturday (May 17) at 1 p.m. CT, with the championship match slated for Sunday (May 18) at 4 p.m. CT.
• The winner of this match will face either No. 2 Texas A&M or No. 10 Tennessee in the semifinals.
