
U-M to Travel to Austin for Head-to-Head With No. 1 Texas

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 13-ranked University of Michigan rowing team travels south to take on No. 1 Texas at Lady Bird Lake in Austin on Saturday (April 12) at 8:30 a.m. CT. The Wolverines will be racing against the Longhorns in a regular-season matchup for the fifth straight year.
Notes
• The following boats are expected to race Saturday at Texas: 1V8, 2V8, 1V4, and 2V4.
• The Wolverines are looking for their first 1V8, 2V8 or 1V4 victory over Texas in their fifth straight season racing against the Longhorns, who have taken first-place honors in three of the last four NCAA Championships (2021-22, '24).
• Following two first-place finishes two weekends ago (March 29) against Oklahoma and Virginia at the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, the Michigan 2V4 was honored as one of four Big Ten Boats of the Week. The boat included Emma Kerkau, Sinéad Erasmus, Maddy Matos, Megan Higley, and coxswain Isabela Pimentel.
• Michigan's fours have been a strength this season, compiling seven first-place finishes in nine races across two events and a perfect record at the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The U-M four-person boats have averaged +15.6 seconds over second-place opponents in their seven victories.
• Rowers Leija Murphy (3V4), Ansley Vicars (3V4) Tacey Moore (1N8), Alex Morales (1N8), Ava Harrington (1N8), Julia Webber (1N8), Ava Fox (1N8), Kiley Locke (1N8), Isobel Block (1N8), Megan Arntz (1N8), Catalina Echavarria (coxswain, 1N8), Ayelel Meyen (2N8), Adrianna Getzloff (2N8), Madison Dakin (2N8), Ava Mardis (2N8), Lucie Belknap (2N8), Lily Palmerino (2N8), Nicole Granovsky (2N8), Catherine Alcantara (2N8), and Ava Faraj (coxswain, 2N8), made their collegiate debuts two weekends ago at the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
