ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan swimming and diving program closed out its home schedule with a bevy of solid swims on the final day of the First Chance Meet on Sunday (Feb. 16) at Canham Natatorium.
Jacque Wenger opened the final session with a season best in the men's 200-yard backstroke, posting a mark of 1:42.97. Rian Herrmann touched the wall at 1:45.89 to log a new top time for 2024-25.
Sophia Jahn shined in her lone race of the morning, clocking a time of 50.39 in the women's 100-yard freestyle to set a new personal best.
Tyler Tannenberger continued his strong weekend with a personal best in the men's 200-yard breaststroke, logging a mark of 1:58.67. Cameron Luarde registered a time of 1:56.89 to earn a season-best mark.
Freshman Henry Gray posted a time of 1:47.15 in the men's 200-yard butterfly to set a new personal best. Josean Massucco wrapped up the weekend with a new career best in the 1,650-yard freestyle, powering through the pool and touching the wall at 15:23.15.
U-M will now turn its focus to the postseason starting with the Women's Big Ten Championships. The four-day meet will get underway on Wednesday (Feb. 19) at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio.
