Notes
• After dropping a pair of games to end the month of January, Michigan is out to a 4-0 start in February. Over the last four games, Michigan has averaged 74.8 points per game on 47.3 percent shooting while allowing just 59.0 points per game on 36.5 percent shooting. All five of Michigan's starters are scoring at least 8.8 points per game over the stretch -- Syla Swords at 14.5 ppg, Jordan Hobbs at 14.0 ppg, Olivia Olson at 13.3 ppg, Mila Holloway at 11.0 ppg and Greta Kampschroeder at 8.8 ppg. U-M has won eight of its last 10 games after facing three straight top-10 teams.
• Maryland leads the series, 11-4, with all but one game coming as Big Ten opponents. Michigan took the lone meeting between the teams last year, rallying for a 79-77 overtime win at Crisler Center. U-M has won three of the last four in the series.
• Michigan is looking for its third win over a ranked team this season after picking up a 71-61 win at No. 20 Michigan State on Feb. 9. The Wolverines also have a 70-65 win over No. 23 Minnesota (Jan. 22) as a ranked victory. U-M has faced (rankings at the time) No. 1 South Carolina, No. 10 Oklahoma, No. 4 USC, No. 1 UCLA, No. 8 Ohio State, No. 20 Michigan State, No. 21 Michigan State and No. 23 Minnesota. This is the ninth time Michigan is playing a top-25 team this season.
• Hobbs recorded the third 20-point game of her career in Michigan's comeback win over Indiana (Feb. 12), finishing with a career-best 24 points on 10-for-13 shooting from the floor. Michigan has won all three games that Hobbs has reached the 20-point mark -- against Indiana, Washington (Jan. 15, 2025) and last season at Illinois (Dec. 10, 2023). On the season, she is averaging 13.2 points and 4.8 rebounds in 30.7 minutes per game.
• Michigan has just four regular-season games remaining before heading to the 2025 Big Ten Tournament. U-M is one of 12 teams to have secured its berth to the postseason event. Michigan has already tied its Big Ten win total from last season with nine victories. At 9-5 (as of Feb. 15), U-M is tied for sixth place in the conference. Michigan's NET ranking (as of Feb. 15) is 25 as one of seven Big Ten teams in the top 30.
• Michigan's contest at Maryland marks a homecoming for a pair on Michigan's staff. Assistant coach Jillian Dunston is from Silver Spring, Md., with this marking her first trip back to the DMV as a member of Michigan's coaching staff. In addition, director of operations Amy Mulligan is an alum of Maryland after growing up in Annapolis.
• There are just nine freshmen across the Power Four conferences who have played at least 700 minutes this season, with Michigan's trio of freshman starters among them. Olson (741, 29.6 mpg), Swords (745, 31.1 mpg) and Holloway (700, 28.3 mpg) are playing heavy minutes for the Wolverines. There is only one other team in the top 30 of the NET playing a freshman this much - Mikalya Blakes at Vanderbilt.
• U-M returns to Crisler Center on Saturday (Feb. 22) to host Penn State as part of Alumni Weekend and Senior Day. Michigan will honor Hobbs and Kampschroeder prior to the game.
