KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The No. 11-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving program battled but fell to No. 9-ranked Tennessee 24-16 on Friday (Nov. 21) at Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.
Luka Mladenovic highlighted the individual action, setting a new school record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 50.92.
The team of Jack Wilkening, Luka Mladenovic, Tyler Ray and Ole Eidam got U-M off to a solid start with a win in the 400-yard medley relay with a mark of 3:03.19, narrowly missing a school record in the event.
Lorne Wigginton took first in the 400-yard IM with a time of 3:40.18 while Ray won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 44.78.
Next up, Michigan will face Virginia at 3 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 22) on the second day of the CSCAA Dual Meet Challenge in Knoxville.
