
Michigan Inks Five on National Signing Day

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan women's soccer head coach Jennifer Klein announced Wednesday (Nov. 12) the signing of five student-athletes to scholarship agreements -- Torah Betteridge, Anabelle Egeland, Ellie Lesser, Sloane May and Brooklyn Reid. The incoming recruits hail from four states and one Canadian province, consisting of two midfielders, a forward, a defender and a goalkeeper.

Torah Betteridge | Midfield | 5-7 | Calgary, Alberta (Vancouver Rise)
• Ranked fifth in the Canadian Top 100 2026 Class per First Touch Football
• Started all four contests playing 341 minutes for Vancouver Rise FC at the 2025 CONCACAF Champions Cup
• Also suited up for Vancouver at the 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup
• Helped the Vancouver Rise to a League1 Inter-Provincial Championship in 2023 and 2024
• Played for Canada at the CONCACAF Women's Under-17 International Friendly
Anabelle Egeland | Defense | 5-8 | Long Grove, Ill. (Eclipse)
• Played for Eclipse Select SC of the ECNL
• Suited up in the 2025 Continental Tire ECNL National Team Selection Game
• Named 2025 First Team All-State by Chicagoland Soccer
• Anchored the Stevenson High School defense that posted seven shutouts her senior year, where she also added four goals and two assists
• Earned a 2025 First Team All-Area honor from the Lake County News-Sun
• Ranked as the No. 1 defender, No. 4 overall Midwest recruit and No. 38 Defender Nationally by Top Drawer Soccer
• Named to 2024 Lake County All-Area Team
• Earned NSC All-Conference and Daily Herald All-Area distinctions
Ellie Lesser | Midfield | 5-8 | Atlanta, Ga. (TopHat)
• Suited up for the NASA TopHat GA Gold squad
• Helped TopHat to a final four run at the Girls Academy League Champions Cup
• Poured in 17 points on six goals and five assists for TopHat during the 2025 circuit
• Also a four-year letterwinner at Riverwood International Charter School
• Named to the All-Region First Team and earned the team's Offensive Player of the Year title in 2024
 • Scored over 30 goals her junior season helping Riverwood to a state playoff berth
Sloane May | Forward | 5-9 | Fishers, Ind. (Indy Premier)
• Indy Premier SC 08G (GA), Indy Premier Soccer Club (11 years at the club)
• Named to the Top Drawer Soccer Girls Academy National Talent ID Roster in 2025
• Suited up for the Top Drawer Soccer 2025 West All-American Team
• Also voted a 2025 High School All-American by Top Drawer Soccer
• Named a United Soccer Coaches 2024 All-American
• Helped Hamilton Southeastern High School to a 2025 3A State Championship
• Voted as the 2025 Indiana Soccer Coaches Association Player of the Year
Brooklyn Reid | Goalkeeper | 5-11 | Anchorage, Alaska (Shattuck St. Mary's/Alaska Thorns)
• Suited up as the backup goalkeeper for the Portland Thorns in an NWSL friendly against Seattle (Aug. 5, 2025)
• Played with the U.S. Youth Soccer ODP National Team in Spain (2025)
• Attended Shattuck-St. Mary's School in Minnesota (2025)
• Earned time in goal for the Alaska Thorns of the Alaska Youth Soccer Conference
• Voted as one of the Best U19 Girls outside of ECNL and GA by Top Drawer Soccer (2025)
