ROME, Ga. -- The University of Michigan women's tennis team wrapped up play at the three-day RTC Collegiate Invite on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 26) at the Rome Tennis Center. Competing for U-M were Laura Rahnel, Bayley Sheinin, Gabriella Lindgren, and Jessica Bernales.
Lindgren was perfect in singles action, posting a 4-0 record with two straight-set victories and a pair of three-set wins. Bernales dropped just one singles match all weekend, closing with three straight wins to finish 3-1. Sheinin went 2-2 on the weekend, while Rahnel collected one singles victory.
On the doubles court, Bernales and Rahnel paired up for the first time this season and went 3-0 as a tandem. Sheinin and Lindgren dropped their opening match but rebounded to win both contests on Saturday (Oct. 25), finishing with a 2-1 mark.
Michigan will return to action at the ITA Sectional Championships (Nov. 6-9) at Texas A&M, with final opportunities to qualify for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships on the line.
