
Wolverines to Close Out Regular Season at EMU Fall Classic

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 25-ranked University of Michigan men's cross country team will wrap up regular-season competition at the EMU Fall Classic on Friday (Oct. 24) at 4:30 p.m. at Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter, Mich. Attendees are subject to Hudson Mills Metropark's $10 daily admission rate.
Notes
• Michigan remains at No. 5 in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association regional rankings and enters the Coaches National Poll for the first time this season at No. 25.
• U-M will run in its second meet of the season at Hudson Mills Metropark after opening the 2025 slate with the Michigan Open on Aug. 29.
• The Wolverines placed 15th out of 32 teams at last week's Nuttycombe Invitational in Madison, Wis., scoring 435 points.
• Nathan Lopez led all Michigan runners for the second straight meet, finishing the championship race in 24th place (23:40.6). Luke Venhuizen and Trent McFarland were the next Wolverines to cross the finish line, placing 65th (24:05.5) and 91st (24:23.6), respectively.
• Luke Alverson made his collegiate debut with a 24:58.0 time over eight kilometers, placing 154th.
• William Beardsley made his season debut, posting a 14th-place finish (24:43.5) in the B Race. Kyler McNatt finished just behind in 19th place (24:44.4).
• The Maize and Blue will start postseason competition next week (Oct. 31) at the Big Ten Cross Country Championships in East Lansing, Mich., at 10:35 a.m.
