
U-M Returns to Canham to Face No. 11 Ohio State

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 13-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team (2-1, 1-1 Big Ten) will meet No. 11-ranked Ohio State (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten) on Saturday (Jan. 18) at noon inside Canham Natatorium for the final conference dual meet of the regular season. Notes
• The Wolverines look to bounce back after a defeat against No. 2 Indiana last Friday (Jan. 10) in Bloomington.
• Colin Geer shined against the Hoosiers, taking first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:42.31. The sophomore also finished second in the 200-yard IM with a mark of 1:44.00.
• Tyler Ray notched two second-place results against Indiana, posting a time of 45.78 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly and season-best mark of 1:42.36 in the 200 fly.
• Gal Groumi took second in the 100-yard freestyle last time out, touching the wall in 44.64. Groumi's season-best time of 41.75 leads the Big Ten.
• Jon Jøntvedt logged a new personal best in the 1,000-yard freestyle in Bloomington, clocking a time of 8:55.40. The freshman's mark ranks sixth in the conference.
• Eitan Ben-Shitrit will look to continue his recent success against the Buckeyes. In 2024, he earned second-place finishes in three events.
• Julian Cardenas enters Saturday's meet with momentum after finishing third in the one-meter dive with a score of 361.20.
• Michigan will battle Ohio State for the 90th time, leading the series 73-14-2, but the Buckeyes have won each of the past three meetings.
