Japan 45, USA 42

The United States fell 45-42 to Japan in its second group contest at Champ-de-Mars Arena. Team USA narrowly led just three times throughout the game -- twice in the first quarter and again midway through the third -- and was tied early in the fourth, but could not respond to a Japan surge over the final two minutes. Chuck Aoki led the USA with 19 ties and tallied two steals.
