• Chun Named Recipient of Big Ten Mary Fossum Award (4/25/24)
Big Ten Golfer of the Week (April 10) -- Monet Chun was named the Big Ten's Co-Golfer of the Week after her record-breaking medalist honor at the Chattanooga Classic which the Wolverines won by six shots. After an opening 74, Chun roared back with 11 birdies in the second round to set the U-M and Chattanooga Classic single-round records with a 61 (-10). The tally also tied the second-lowest individual round in NCAA history. Using a closing 68 (-3), Chun etched a 203 (-10) to win by two shots. She earned her third career individual title and the 39th in program history. Her 203 tally tied U-M's lowest 54-hole record and tied her former teammate Ashley Lau's 203 (-7; 67-70-66) at the 2022 Vystar Gators Invitational. Chun shares the award with Rutgers' Rikke Nordvik and Maryland's Patricie Mackova. » Big Ten Release
Big Ten Players to Watch (Aug. 31) -- Fifth-year senior Hailey Borja, senior Monet Chun and sophomore Lauren Sung were named to the Big Ten's Golfers to Watch for the upcoming 2023-24 season. With the return of Borja and Chun, Michigan remains steadfast in its quest to compete not only on the national stage, but in the Big Ten as well. After becoming the second straight Wolverine to reach the Final Four at the U.S. Women's Amateur, Borja (39 career events) returns by virtue of the NCAA's COVID-19 year, headlining U-M's returning starters. Combining 31 starts from Chun and the two U-M veterans will serve as the backbone of the team. After her strong summer winning the 2023 Pacific Northwest Amateur and earning a runner-up finish at the 2023 California Women's Amateur, Sung will look to capitalize on her momentum heading into her sophomore season. » Big Ten Release
