» The Wolverines posted a 921 54-hole team total to open the spring season with a 10th-place finish at the Nexus Collegiate played at the Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas.

ALBANY, Bahamas -- Senior Monet Chun's 215 (-1) total helped earn a runner-up finish as the 35th-ranked University of Michigan women's golf team tallied a spring-opening total of 921 to finish 10th on Wednesday (Feb. 14) at Texas Tech's Nexus Collegiate play at the Albany Golf Club.
With a total of 13 birdies during her three rounds, Chun posted a 215 (-1) on Wednesday, her third straight sub-par 54-hole total, to tie for second in the 66-golfer field. Using five birdies, she opened with a 74 (+2) in Monday's (Feb. 11) first round. With an additional five birdies in the second round, Chun posted a U-M-low 69 (-3) to move into the top three after 36-holes at 143 (-1).
Behind Chun, fifth-year Hailey Borja tied for 50th with a 235 (77-76-82) tally, while freshman Sidney Yermish (80-77-81) and sophomore Lauren Sung (75-81-82) tied for 56th at 238. Playing as an individual, redshirt-sophomore Mara Janess tied for 47th after her 232 event total.
With the spring season started, the Wolverines will next head to Florida's Vystar Gators Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3 at the Mark Bostick Golf Course.
