
Wolverines Conclude Competition at Windy City Invitational

CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team finished off its stay at the Windy City Invitational hosted by Wisconsin at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track and Field Center.
Lucy Petee ran a season-best 2:10.84 in the 800-meter run, while the mile run saw three personal bests. Lani Bloom finished second with a time of 4:44.17, Tilly Simpson finished sixth (4:46.86) and Mara Longenecker finished 17th (4:52.29).
In the 300-meter open, Leah Hill earned an 18th-place finish with a personal-best time of 9:48.35.
The throws had an impressive performance in the shot put, with a podium finish and four personal bests. Corinne Jemison threw a season-best 16.22 meters (53 feet, 2.75 inches) for a third-place finish, while Maria Deaviz finished fourth (16.19m/53 feet, 1.5 inches). Trinity Franklin threw a personal-best mark of 15.35m (50 feet, 4.5 inches) for an eighth-place finish and Elizabeth Tapper threw a personal-best 15.18m (49 feet, 9.75 inches) for a ninth-place finish. Franklin holds the No. 8 mark in program history while Tapper moved up to No. 10.
Multis Clare McNamara (13.11m/43 feet, 0.25 inches) and Mia Manson (9.98m/32 feet, 9 inches) also saw personal best marks in the shot put.
Riley Ammenhauser finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 16.68m (41 feet, 7.25 inches) while Nadia Saunders finished seventh with a mark of 12.31m (40 feet, 4.75 inches).
The Maize and Blue will close out its regular-season indoor home slate hosting the Silverston Invitational on Friday (Feb. 16) at 3:30 p.m.
