ROSEMONT, Ill. -- The University of Michigan football team had 16 student-athletes earn all-league honors on the conference's All-Big Ten Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams lists it was announced Tuesday (Dec. 3). The Big Ten revealed the 2024 position award winners and All-Big Ten honors as part of the B1G Today program on Big Ten Network.
Dominic Zvada earned the Bakken-Andersen Big Ten Kicker of the Year Award following a regular season in which he went 17-for-18 overall with his only miss coming on a blocked field goal. He is the second U-M kicker to earn the honor, joining two-time winner Jake Moody (2021-22) and marking the third time in four years the award has gone to a Wolverine.
Zvada has been a weapon for the Wolverines with 76 points (25 PATs) and a perfect seven-for-seven mark from 50-plus yards, a single-season and career record at Michigan from distance. Zvada has the most field goals in the FBS this year from 50-plus yards without a miss and is nine-for-nine from 40-plus, one shy of a single-season U-M record. He matched his career-long (56 yards) twice in November and also made a 54-yarder in Columbus before drilling the game-winning 21-yard conversion with 45 seconds remaining to secure Michigan's fourth straight win in the series.
Zvada was first-team All-Big Ten on both ballots and long snapper William Wagner, a finalist for the Patrick Mannelly Award, was selected as a first-team honoree by the coaches (honorable mention, media).
Mason Graham is U-M's first-team honoree to represent the nation's No. 15-ranked defense. The run defense is No. 3 nationally and the unit generated at least six TFLs in seven of nine Big Ten games this year. Graham leads all linemen and ranks tied-third on the team with 45 tackles, including seven for loss with 3.5 sacks, three quarterback hurries, one blocked kick, and one pass breakup. Graham is the nation's top-graded run defender by Pro Football Focus (92.4) and has the fourth-most pressures (sacks, hits, hurries) among interior defensive linemen (34).
Fellow defensive linemen Josaiah Stewart and Kenneth Grant were also named second-team honorees by both the coaches and media. Stewart has posted 33 tackles including 13.0 for loss with 6.5 sacks, all in Big Ten play, and two forced fumbles. He ranks 16th nationally with 0.77 sacks per game and has another seven quarterback hurries. He has the nation's No. 2 pass-rush win rate (24.6 percent).
Grant is the 10th-highest graded run defender (87.5) and has 32 stops this season including 6.5 for loss with three sacks and two fumble recoveries. Grant also set the career record for most pass breakups by a U-M defensive lineman with 12 including one interception (five breakups in 2024).
Defensive back Will Johnson picked up second-team honors from the media and an honorable mention nod from the coaches after posting 14 tackles (one for loss) with five pass breakups including two interceptions across six games played. Both of Johnson's interceptions were returned for touchdowns, and he broke the U-M career record with three pick-sixes in his career. He allowed zero touchdowns in coverage for the second straight season (503 total coverage snaps).
The team's leading tackler with 82 stops (50 solo) including seven for loss with two sacks, two pass breakups, and one interception, linebacker Ernest Hausmann earned honorable mention status on both ballots. Defensive back Zeke Berry, the team leader in pass breakups (10) and turnovers (two interceptions, one fumble recovery), was an honorable mention on the coaches ballot along with edge Derrick Moore (19 tackles, four for loss, two sacks).
On offense, tight end Colston Loveland was a second-team pick on both coaches and media ballots following a season in which he set the single-season U-M tight end record for receptions (56) and led the team with 582 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Loveland was the team's leading or co-leading receiver in all nine games that he finished and was fifth in the FBS in targets by a tight end (84) heading into Week 12.
The team's leading rusher, Kalel Mullings was named third-team all-conference by the media and an honorable mention pick by the coaches. Mullings has totaled 948 yards on the ground to go with 12 touchdowns this season. He's averaged 3.52 yards after contact per attempt and has only 18 negative yards on 185 attempts all season. Guard Josh Priebe also picked up third-team honors from the media and an honorable mention nod from the coaches.
Guard Giovanni El-Hadi and tackle Myles Hinton were honorable mention selections on both ballots and running back Donovan Edwards was named honorable mention by the coaches. The offensive line honorees, along with Edwards and Mullings, contributed to a run game that accounted for 18 touchdowns and over 160 yards per game. U-M won the ground game in eight contests this season and ran for 148-plus yards seven times.
Semaj Morgan was named an honorable mention by the coaches as a return specialist (nine returns, 100 yards).
Max Bredeson is the team's sportsmanship honoree.
