
Wolverines to Welcome Army West Point to Cliff Keen Arena

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 3-ranked University of Michigan men's gymnastics team returns home to host No. 12 Army West Point on Saturday (Jan. 20) at 1 p.m. inside Cliff Keen Arena. Admission to all home meets for the 2024 season are free of charge.
Notes
• The Wolverines rank No. 3 in the latest Road To Nationals rankings with an average team score of 405.025 through two meets. U-M also is second on pommel horse (68.425) and parallel bars (67.350).
• U-M enters Saturday's meet with a perfect 6-0 record, securing four victories at the Windy City Invitational behind a 405.150 team tally. The squad is second in the country on still rings (68.425), and parallel bars (67.350) and is fourth on vault and high bar.
• Individual rankings are led by Javier Alfonso on high bar (No. 1 - 14.90), David Wolma on vault (No. 1 - 14.80). Evgeny Siminiuc and Crew Bold each rank third on parallel bars and high bar, respectively.
• At the Windy City Invitational, individual wins were hauled in by Kyle Walchuk (pommel horse), Alfonso (still rings), David Wolma (vault) and Logan McKeown (parallel bars).
• Alfonso scored a career-best 15.10 on still rings at the Windy City Invitational (Jan. 13). It marked the second time in his career that he has broken the 15-plateau on the event (Oklahoma, 2023).
• Saturday's dual meet against Army is the first between the teams in the modern era of NCAA gymnastics (since 1997). The Black Knights have competed twice on the season and rank No. 12 nationally with a 379.550 scoring average.
