
Michigan to Welcome Wisconsin to U-M Soccer Stadium

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's soccer team (2-3-4, 1-0-2 Big Ten) will host Wisconsin (4-2-3, 1-0-2 Big Ten) on Sunday (Oct. 1) at 3 p.m. at U-M Soccer Stadium for its fourth conference contest. The match will be streamed on B1G+.
Notes
• Michigan remains unbeaten in Big Ten Conference play as it played to a scoreless draw at Indiana in its last match on Tuesday (Sept. 26).
• The Wolverines have started at least five true freshmen in all nine matches and have played nine true freshman overall this season. Michigan has both Matthew Fisher and Will Baker starting on the backline and Isaiah Goldson in goal, while Duilio Herrera, Joao Paulo Ramos and Alex Waggoner have all earned at least three starts on the offensive side of the ball.
• Waggoner has scored three goals for the Wolverines after posting the game-tying goal against Rutgers (Sept. 22). Waggoner ranks second for U-M with six points having played in all nine matches and making eight starts for the Maize and Blue.
• The Michigan defensive line has stepped up in big ways the past two games. Against Rutgers, Nolan Miller made a save on the goal line that locked up Michigan's win over the Scarlet Knights before blocking a shot in the final minute of play against Indiana to end the match in a scoreless draw.Moshtaba Al-Hasnawi has moved to defense in his final season and has proven to be a leader in the backfield. He also blocked a shot in the final minute of play against Indiana and has contributed on the offensive end as a playmaker with two assists and one goal.
• Baker and Fisher have been steady on the backline as each has started eight of nine matches and have helped the Wolverines to two shutouts. Goldson has earned the start in goal the last four matches and has tallied 22 saves. Most recently, Goldson made a career-best seven saves en route to his first career shutout at Indiana.
• Captain Bryce Blevins continues to lead Michigan as he has a team-best eight points after adding his third goal of the season on a penalty kick against Rutgers. He has started all nine matches and ranks second with 742 minutes on the pitch.
