ROSEMONT, Ill. -- The Big Ten Conference office released its winter 2023 Academic All-Big Ten team Thursday (March 23), with 106Â University of Michigan student-athletes earning the distinction.
Criteria for making the Academic All-Big Ten team includes being in at least their second academic year at their institution and maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
The conference office also awards Academic All-Big Ten distinction in the fall and spring seasons. U-M had 164 honorees in the fall to give the Wolverines 270Â so far for 2022-23.
Student-athletes with a GPA of 3.7 or higher for the current academic year, excluding summer school, are eligible for the Distinguished Scholar Award announced in the summer.
