
Brady Named USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region Athlete of the Year

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- After earning All-America honors at the NCAA Cross Country Championships last Saturday (Nov. 18), Tom Brady was honored with the Dan McClimon Award, given to the top male cross country athlete in the Great Lakes region, U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association recently announced.
Brady saved his best for the end of the season, most recently posting the highest finish among Great Lakes region runners at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Charlottesville, Va. Brady secured 27th overall with a time of 29:37.1, landing on the All-America team as one of the top 40 individual competitors.
Brady preceded his effort at nationals with a pair of third-place finishes in Madison, Wis., at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional and Big Ten Cross Country Championships. Brady logged a 10K time of 29:41.8 in the regional and an 8K mark of 24:18.9. As a result, Brady received All-Region and All-Big Ten first team accolades.
The graduate student was consistent throughout the 2023 season, finishing as the top Wolverine in every race that he started during the campaign. Brady logged career-best times in all three distances that he competed in this season (5K, 8K and 10K).
Brady's award marked the first time a member of the Maize and Blue has been named Regional Athlete of the Year since Ben Flanagan in 2017.
