ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan softball team and head coach Bonnie Tholl announced Wednesday (Nov. 15) the Wolverines' 2024 schedule, which features 56-regular season contests with 16 home games at Carol Hutchins Stadium, home of Alumni Field.
The Wolverines' 2024 slate also features 10 opponents who reached the NCAA Tournament a season ago, with notable matchups against Big Ten Conference rivals Northwestern and Indiana.
Michigan will kick off the program's 47th year of intercollegiate play at the annual USF Tournament, scheduled for Feb. 9-11 in Tampa, Fla. U-M has opened its season at South Florida every year since 2013, with the exception of the 2021 conference-only season. Among its five-game slate, Michigan will face perennial power Florida, an NCAA Tournament team last season.
The Wolverines will split their spring break with tournament appearances at UC Santa Barbara (Feb. 23-25) and the annual Judi Garman Classic (Feb. 29-March 2). U-M will face four NCAA Tournament teams at the Garman tournament in Florida, Texas A&M, host Cal State Fullerton and UCLA.
U-M will host Oakland (March 20) and Purdue (March 22-24) to kick off its home slate. The Wolverines will also host Big Ten series against Northwestern (April 5-7), Iowa (April 12-14), Nebraska (19-21) and Ohio State (May 3-5) in addition to the second half of its annual home-and-home midweek series against Michigan State (April 16).
The Wolverines graduated four veteran starters from last season, including 2021 Big Ten Player of the Year Lexie Blair and fellow All-Big Ten honorees Audrey LeClair and Melina Livingston, but return a pair of All-Big Ten selections in junior RHP Lauren Derkowski and sophomore infielder Indiana Langford. Featuring 14 returning letterwinners, Team 47 also welcomes a talented freshman class that includes five nationally-ranked prospects in addition to sophomore/freshman Lilly Vallimont, who redshirted last season with injury.
Renewals for current season-ticket holders will be made available in January. Due to overwhelming demand, no new season tickets will be available this spring. Flex packs will go on sale Jan. 18, while group and individual-game tickets will be made available on Feb. 7. For more ticket information and details, please visit the softball ticket page.
