DEXTER, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's cross country team wrapped up the regular season at the EMU Fall Classic at Hudson Mills Metropark on Friday (Oct. 20).
Nine Wolverines in uniform and three competing unattached navigated the 5k course, and 11 members of the Maize and Blue finished with times below 20 minutes.
Freshman CC Jones logged her best result of the season, finishing fifth overall with a time of 18:31.4. Gabbie Michael crossed the line at 18:46.1, securing ninth place and setting a new 5k personal best.
Mara Longenecker posted a mark of 19:05.8 to finish 17th overall. In their season debuts, Lucy Petee and Alyna Lewis registered times of 19:22.2 and 19:23.9, respectively. Petee finished 23rd and Lewis grabbed 26th overall.
Of the four Wolverine women running unattached, newcomer Penelopea Gordon led the way with a time of 18:22.2, finishing third overall.
U-M will return to action on Oct. 27 when it travels to Madison, Wis., for the Big Ten Cross Country Championships.
