Hogan Qualifies for NCAA Championships on Platform

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Junior Lucy Hogan of the University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team qualified for the NCAA Championships on the third and final day of the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships at Canham Natatorium on Wednesday (March 9), which featured competition on the platform.
Hogan qualified for the NCAA Championships by finishing sixth on the platform with a score of 525.50. She also finished fifth in the preliminary round, which allowed her to advance to the finals. Hogan was the only Michigan diver to compete on the platform on Wednesday.
Zone C is allotted nine spots on platform at the NCAA Championships. Any diver that qualifies for the NCAA Championships will be allowed to optionally enter any other event(s) at the championships, provided that the diver finished in the top 12 at the same zone meet and has achieved the zone qualifying score for that event prior to the NCAA Championships.
Overall, Michigan had two divers punch tickets to the NCAA women's championships through Zone C qualifications. In addition to Hogan qualifying on the platform, Allie Klein qualified to compete on the 1-meter springboard and 3-meter springboard.
The NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships are set for March 16-19 in Atlanta, Ga.
