ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Senior Ross Todd of the University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team qualified for the NCAA Championships on Tuesday (March 9) on the third and final day of the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships, which featured competition on the platform at Canham Natatorium.
Todd earned his fourth trip to the NCAA Championships by finishing fourth on the platform with a score of 768.80. Zone C is allotted 11 spots on the platform at the NCAA Championships. He was seventh in the preliminary round with a six-dive score of 363.35, which allowed him to advance to the finals.
Todd's platform qualification also makes him eligible to compete on the one-meter springboard at NCAAs based on his top-12 finish (11th) in that event yesterday. Any diver that qualifies for the NCAA Championships will be allowed to optionally enter any other event(s) at the championships, provided that the diver finished in the top 12 at the zone meet and has achieved the zone qualifying score for that event prior to the NCAA Championships.
The NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships are set for March 23-26 in Atlanta, Ga.
