ATLANTA, Ga. -- The University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team is sitting in 15th place after two top-16 relay finishes on the first day of competition at the NCAA Championships on Wednesday (March 23) at McAuley Aquatic Center.
The quartet of Nadav Aaronson, Will Chan, Gal Groumi and Cam Peel opened up the NCAA Championships with a 13th-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:23.14.
In the 800-yard freestyle relay, Patrick Callan led off the relay for the Maize and Blue with a blistering 1:33.10. Jake Mitchell was the next Wolverine in the pool, and Groumi took over after Mitchell moved Michigan up into fourth in its heat. Bora Unalmis anchored for Michigan, holding for a fifth-place finish in the heat and 14th overall with a time of 6:14.56.
