Wolverine Bites
• Michigan enters game week five ranked No. 13 in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and the USILA Coaches Poll. The IL Media Poll ranking of 13 is the highest in program history. A win would tie the U-M record for wins in a season (8, 2017-18), while the Wolverines' six wins at home are already a program record for a season.
• In U-M's 2-0 week that featured wins over Marquette and No. 17 Delaware, junior attackman Josh Zawada broke the program's single-season record for points in a season (48) and now sits at 51 points on the year. Additionally, he recently moved into second all-time in career points (122, 68 goals, 54 assists) and is 22 points away from Ian King's (2014-17) program record of 144.
• Zawada has been one of the most potent offensive weapons in the country, leading the NCAA in points-per-game (7.29), and ranking fourth nationally in goals-per-game (4.00) and fifth in assists (3.29).
• Fellow attackman sophomore Michael Boehm ranks No. 10 in the country in points-per-game (5.29) and is No. 23 in goals (3.00 per game) and No. 17 in assists (2.29 per game). With 37 points, he is also on pace to surpass the previous school record of points in a season (48).
• As a team, U-M leads the nation in assists per game (11.86), points per game (30.28), scoring defense (7.71 goals per game), scoring margin (plus-10.71), and scoring offense (18.43 goals per game).
• Sophomore goalie Shane Carr is leading the country in goals-against-average (6.74) and is second in save percentage (64 percent). Against Delaware, he totaled 20 stops, the third-most in program history.
• For their performances against Marquette and Delaware, Michael Boehm (offensive), Shane Carr (specialist) and Ryan Cohen (freshman) were named Big Ten Players of the Week (March 8).
• Junior Jake Bonomi ranks third on the team in goals with 19 and is three away from the U-M record for goals by a midfielder in a season. He trails Decker Curran's mark of 22, established during the 2018 season. He boasts four hat-tricks already this year and has surpassed his previous career-best for goals in a season (13).
• The Wolverines have totaled 129 goals over the first seven contests of the season with 22 different players marking at least one goal, which ties a program record for goal scorers. Last season, U-M did not score its 129th goal of the second until the final game of the season.
• Per Lacrosse Reference, U-M's cumulative offensive efficiency ranks No. 1 in the nation, while the defensive unit ranks first as well. Zawada ranks second in the country in the sites' statistical Tewaaraton' with 35.38 expected goals added while Boehm is No. 5 (29.30). U-M's strength of schedule is ranked No. 26.
