Wolverine Bites
• U-M ranks as the No. 4 team in the country in the RTN rankings (401.933). The Wolverines are No. 2 on still rings (68.800) and are ranked fifth on parallel bars (66.367) and high bar (65.517).
• Junior Paul Juda leads the nation on high bar with a 14.183 three-score average, while senior Nicholas Guy (third, 14.65) and freshman David Wolma (fifth, 14.567) check-in with top-five rankings on vault. Junior David Willett ranks No. 5 in the all-around (76.967).
• The Wolverines have stuck nine landings, have counted 17 scores above the 14-plateau, and have hit 73 routines on the season.
• At the recent Winter Cup meet, Juda, Willett, and Crew Bold took part in the USA Gymnastics sanctioned Winter Cup Challenge at The Star in Frisco, Texas, on Sunday, Feb. 27. Juda scored the top all-around score on day two of the competition, marking a score of 83.850. His top event score of 14.800 came on vault, and he added a 14.200 on high bar. Had he been present on the first day of competition when the all-around title was decided, his all-around score would have put him in second place behind Oklahoma's Vitaliy Guimaraes.
• For his performance, Juda was named to the US Senior National Team. Senior Cameron Bock was named to the team via petition. Both will be on the team through this year's U.S. Gymnastics Championships, held Aug. 18-21 in Tampa, Fla.
• Senior Cameron Bock will make his season debut at the meet, competing for the first time since suffering an elbow injury in the fall. A Toyko Olympics replacement athlete, he also won a trio to Big Ten titles a year ago (still rings, pommel horse, and all-around) and will once again be a key contributor towards the Wolverines' Big Ten title hopes.
• Army is ranked as the No. 10 team in the country, highlighted by a No. 9 ranking on still rings (64.717). Their best gymnast is Matthew Davis, who is No. 4 in the all-around (80.100) and is No. 7 on floor exercise (13.933). The Black Knights also rank No. 10 on vault (69.567) and high bar (61.133).
• William & Mary is No. 13 in the NCAA in team rankings and on all-six events. Their top performer is Aiden Cuy, who checks in at No. 8 in the all-around rankings (72.350).
