
Dickinson Named to Academic All-District 5 First Team

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan sophomore center Hunter Dickinson was selected to the first team of the CoSIDA Academic All-District men's basketball teams Thursday (Feb. 17). He was one of three players from the Big Ten to earn a spot on a district list.
With eight total Division I districts, Dickinson was a member of the District 5 first team which includes the States of Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. Joining Dickinson on the first team included Detroit Mercy's Antoine Davis, Michigan State's Malik Hall, Xavier's Jack Nunge, Toledo's JT Shumate and Ohio's Ben Vander Plas.
Dickinson, who is interested in a communications degree with a minor in business, becomes the third Wolverine to earn All-District honors after Zack Novak was honored three straight years (2010-12) as was Franz Wagner in 2021. Overall, the U-M program has 11 Academic All-America citations from seven Wolverines.
First team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in mid-March.
For a second straight season, Dickinson leads U-M in scoring (18.1) and rebounding (8.2). He has 19 double-figure scoring games with a team-best 10 20-plus point games, including a career-best-tying 28 at Purdue (Feb. 5). He adds a team-best seven games of 10+ rebounds, including a career-best-tying 15 at Penn State (Feb. 8).
