• Today's loss ends Michigan's season with a 13-1 record, the best single-season record in 143 years of Michigan football.
• Quarterback J.J. McCarthy set a new program record for most wins (12) to begin a quarterback's starting career before his first loss. Dennis Franklin (10 wins before his first loss, 1972) was the prior record holder.
• McCarthy set a new career high in passing yards (343) in his second career game breaking the 300-yard mark through the air. He also ran for a touchdown and converted a two-point conversion rushing.
• Running back Donovan Edwards went over 100 yards rushing for the fifth time this season and the third game in a row (216 yards at Ohio State, 185 yards vs. Purdue).
• Michigan's first points on the day came from a 42-yard field goal by Jake Moody. It was Moody's 16th career field goal of 40-plus yards, adding to his program record.
• That conversion gave Moody 139 points in the 2022 season, breaking Desmond Howard's single-season scoring record (138 points) set in 1991. Following the conclusion of the game, Moody stands at 147.
• Moody also set a new all-time career scoring record at U-M. Garrett Rivas was the previous record-holder at 354 points. Moody finished today with 355 points scored.
• Moody added a 59-yard field goal before the half, breaking the program record for the longest field goal made in U-M history (previous, 57 shared by Quinn Nordin and Hayden Epstein). That marked a new Fiesta Bowl record for longest field goal made as well.
• In fact, the only longer field goal made in a bowl game was a 62-yarder, hit in 1977 by Texas A&M's Tony Franklin against Florida in the Sun Bowl.
• That was Moody's fourth career made field goal of 50-plus yards, tying him with Quinn Nordin and Hayeden Epstein for most career 50-plus yard conversions in program history.
• In the second quarter, linebacker Junior Colson tipped a pass over the middle and it was intercepted by defensive back Rod Moore, giving Moore his team-leading fourth pick of the year.
• Defensive back Makari Paige registered his first career sack near the end of the second quarter.
• U-M made its first end zone trip with 6:32 remaining after McCarthy found Ronnie Bell for a 34-yard hookup off a flea-flicker. It was Bell's fourth receiving touchdown of the season and his fifth overall.
• Bell set a season best with 135 yards receiving, besting his 121-yard performance earlier this year.
• McCarthy ran for a 20-yard touchdown with under two minutes left in the third quarter on a play that immediately followed a career-long 39-yard rush from the quarterback.
• Kalel Mullings recorded his third career touchdown with a one-yard plunge in the final seconds of the third quarter.
• TCU became the first team to reach 150 yards on the ground against Michigan this season.
