Beaubien Earns Academic All-District 5 First Team Honor from CoSIDA

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Senior LHP Meghan Beaubien of the University of Michigan softball team was selected for Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 5 honors, it was announced Thursday (July 1). It is the first CoSIDA academic honor for Beaubien.
She was one of four student-athletes from the Big Ten Conference to be named Academic All-District 5, which includes the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio, and nine total Big Ten student-athletes across the eight districts.
Beaubien, a 2018 NFCA first team All-American and three-time All-Big Ten and All-Great Lakes Region first team pick, posted a 16-5 record this season with a 1.24 earned-run average, 202 strikeouts and a .164 batting average against. She ranked top-20 nationally in several major pitching categories, notably 14th in ERA and 20th with 4.00 hits allowed per seven innings. She tossed three no-hitters in 2021, including a 2-0 shutout against Seattle University in the NCAA Regional.
Beaubien is also accomplished in the classroom. A biomedical engineering major who earned her bachelor's degree this spring, Beaubien is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and earned Big Ten Distinguished Scholar accolades in 2020-21.
Academic All-District teams are selected by CoSIDA and recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in academics and athletics. As an Academic All-District honoree, Beaubien will be on the ballot for the CoSIDA Academic All-America team, which will be announced later this month.
