GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team opened up the NCAA Championships with an 11th-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay on Wednesday (March 17) at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
The Wolverines went with the same group that won the Big Ten title last month. Junior Patrick Callan led off in 1:32.63 -- a new personal best by .04 seconds -- followed by freshman Jake Mitchell (1:33.52), sophomore Danny Berlitz (1:34.78) and freshman Wyatt Davis (1:34.61). All four men earn an All-America Honorable Mention.
The NCAA Championships begin in full force Thursday (March 25) at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. Preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. and finals begin at 6 p.m. Both events will be streamed live on ESPN3.
