The University of Michigan volleyball team (4-5, 4-5 Big Ten) wraps up the home portion of the amended 2020-21 season, hosting No. 5-ranked Nebraska (12-2, 12-2 Big Ten) on Thursday and Friday (March 25-26) at 8 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively. Both matchups will be broadcast live on Big Ten Network.
Wolverine Bites
• Against Ohio State on Friday (March 19), Paige Jones had 10 kills to join the career 1,000-kill club. She followed up with 11 kills on Sunday (March 20), and owns 1,011 kills heading into the series against Nebraska. She trails Sarah Jackson (1994-97) who sits in 13th-place in program history with 1,084 kills.
• Michigan ranks No. 8 in the nation and is tops in the conference in assists per set (13.39) and leads the league in kills per set (14.21) and team attacks per set (37.61).
• Jess Mruzik checks in at No. 4 in the league in attacks per set (11.15) and No. 12 in points per set (4.02). Paige Jones leads the team and is No. 11 in the conference points per set at 4.07.
• On Friday against the Buckeyes, freshmen Hannah Grant (23) and Scottee Johnson (22) eclipsed the 20-dig mark, marking the first time since the 2018 season that U-M had two players achieve the feat. Grant ranks No. 4 in the conference in digs per set (4.32).
• Friday's match will be the final home match of the season for the Wolverines, who are 3-3 at Cliff Keen Arena this year. U-M's lone senior on the team is Kiara Shannon, who opted out of the season in the fall.
