MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The No. 4-ranked University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team posted the fourth-best time in the NCAA in the 200-yard medley relay on the opening night of the Minnesota Invitational on Wednesday (Dec. 1) at Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.
The Wolverines took second in the 200-yard medley relay, earning an NCAA 'A' cut from the foursome of senior Maggie MacNeil, freshman Letitia Sim, senior Olivia Carter and freshman Lindsay Flynn (1:35.53). The same quartet topped their 'A' cut from earlier this season at the SMU Invitational when they turned in a 1:36.25.
U-M managed to finish under the NCAA 'B' cut time in the 800-yard Freestyle Relay in the second race of the night. The quartet of junior Megan Glass, sophomore Kathryn Ackerman, senior Victoria Kwan and Carter touched fourth at 7:03.97, edging the 'B' cut of 7:05.88 and topping their best time of the season by nearly five seconds.
The Minnesota Invite continues Thursday (Dec. 2) with a full slate of events. Preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. CST with finals following at 6 p.m.
