
Nielsen Inks Eight to 2022 Signing Class

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan women's lacrosse head coach Hannah Nielsen announced Thursday (Nov. 11) the signing of an eight-member 2022 recruiting class to National Letters of Intent: Grace Callahan (Victor, N.Y.), Kassidy Isaacson (Sugar Land, Texas), Megan Minturn (Corte Madera, Calif.), Claire Nelson (Andover, Minn.), Calli Norris (Vero Beach, Fla.), Peyton Shreves (Potomac, Md.), Ceci Stein (Darien, Conn.) and Rylee Tinney (Castle Pines, Colo.).
The 2022 class includes five midfielders, two attackers, and one defender which all hail from eight different states.
"I am so excited to welcome these incredible athletes and young women into the Michigan family," said Nielsen. "Each athlete brings a dynamic skill set, and a desire to compete and be successful at the next level. I cannot wait to see them come in an impact the program in future years."
Grace Callahan | D | 5-7 | Victor, N.Y. | Club: Monster Elite
• Prepped at Victor Central High School, where she will be a three-year letterwinner
• Named a Nike All-American Select Member 2022
• Earned D&C All-Great Rochester Honorable Mention and All-Monroe County First Team
• Was named the Defensive MVP as a junior and was named a team captain
• Named to the Under Armour Underclass Command Team three times
• Is a member of National Honor Society and Business Honor Society
• Has been on honor roll for 12 straight quarters and is a member of High Honor Roll
• Is the Key Club vice president, was a state qualifier for DECA and is in the Cares Club
• Is a scholar athlete
• Plays club lacrosse for Monster Elite, which is ranked No. 1 by Lacrosse Magazine
• Helped her regional team, Upstate, to an American Select Tournament Championship
• Helped the team to three championships in 2019: Lax for the Cure Champions, Mid-Atlantic Champions, and Lake Placid Champions
• Was the Lake Placid Champion MVP
Kassidy Isaacson | M | 5-6 | Sugar Land, Texas | Club: Grit Houston
• Prepped at William P. Clements High School, where she will be a four-year letterwinner
• Named all-district and all-state as a junior
• Garnered All-America honors in her junior campaign
• Was named her team's MVP as well as the MVP for the city championship as a junior
• Recorded 52 goals and 17 assists in 14 games in her junior season
• Had Academic Excellence honors for the last three years
• Plays club lacrosse for Grit Houston
Megan Minturn | M | 5-5 | Corte Madera, Calif. | Club: STEPS California
• Prepped at Redwood High School, where she will be a four-year letterwinner
• Selected for the American Select California team in her junior season
• Helped her team to a conference championship in both her freshman and junior seasons
• Is a two-time team captain
• Also plays field hockey and helped the team to two conference championships
• Is a member of California National Honor Society
• Founded the Students United for Inclusivity Club
• Also is a member of the Tobacco Use Prevention Education group and is a peer resource
• Plays club lacrosse for STEPS California, which won the IWLCA West Coast Cup
• Helped her team raise the most money for the Lax for the Cure campaign in 2021
Claire Nelson | M | 6-0 | Andover, Minn. | Club: Minnesota Elite
• Prepped at Andover High School, where she will be a four-year letterwinner
• Is a two-time all-state, all-section and all-conference selection with her sophomore season ending early due to COVID-19
• Led her team to a sectional championship in her junior season
• Named Team MVP twice
• Was a Pioneer Press Player of the Year Finalist as a freshman
• Named the Minnesota Lacrosse Hub Player of the Week two times in her junior season
• Led her team in goals, assists, ground balls and caused turnovers in each season
• Is on the A-Honor Roll, and is a member of Leo Club, Link Crew and Spirit Club
• Was named Student of the Month three times
• Plays club lacrosse for Minnesota Elite
• Helped the team to a Blue Ox Championship in 2019
Calli Norris | A/M | 5-11 | Vero Beach, Fla. | Club: Florida Select 2022
• Prepped at Vero Beach High School, where she will be a four-year letterwinner
• Ranked in Inside Lacrosse's Top 60 Girls in 2022 but missed her junior season due to injury
• Ranked in the top 10 of the Florida High School Girls Lacrosse Top 100 Watch List in her sophomore season
• Named a Sunshine State Player and was a 2020 Under Armour 150 Invitee
• Had a standout freshman season, notching Under Armour All-America honors as well as being named to the South Florida Women's National Team
• Earned VBHSGLAX Rookie of the Year and second team All-Indian River as an attacker in her freshman season
• Scored a career-high 10 goals in a single contest, breaking the VBHSGLAX record
• Won a career-best 12 draw controls in a single game
• Is a member of National Honor Society, is a student government representative, and is a member of the VBHS Red Kettle Club/Salvation Army
• Is on the honor roll and is a member of VBHS Green Team
• Plays club lacrosse for Florida Select 2022, which was ranked No. 1 in the US Club Lacrosse preseason rankings
Peyton Shreves | M | 5-8 | Potomac, Md. | Club: MC Elite
• Prepped at Connelly School of the Holy Child, where she will be a four-year letterwinner
• Earned USA Lacrosse 2021 High School All-American honors
• Named the Freshman Athlete of the Year
• Earned All-Independent School League honors as a freshman
• Had multiple six-goal games in her junior season
• Scored 22 goals and had four assists in eight games as a junior
• Earned First Honors
• Is the co-president of the One Love Club and is on the Athletic Leadership Council
• Plays club lacrosse for MC Elite
Ceci Stein | M | 5-6 | Darien, Conn. | Club: CT Grizzlies
• Prepped at Darien High School, where she will be a four-year letterwinner
• Named to the U18 USA Development Team
• Is a Top 25 CIAC Player to Watch
• Named a U.S. All-American and earned all-state honors in her junior campaign
• Notched first team All-FCIAC accolades as a junior
• Led her team with 87 points in her junior season, including eight points in one game
• Earned the William & Mary Leadership Award
• Plays club lacrosse for the CT Grizzlies
Rylee Tinney | A | 5-11 | Castle Pines, Colo. | Club: Team 180
• Prepped at Valor Christian High School, where she will be a three-year letterwinner
• Missed her junior season due to an injury
• Helped her high school team to the final four for the first time in the history of the program in her freshman season
• Also helped her team to a league title in her freshman season
• Will graduate Cum Laude and is a member of the Stem Endorsees Club, the Athletes for Christ Club, and the Pre-Health Sciences Club
• Plays club lacrosse for Team 180, which is ranked No. 17 by U.S Club Lacrosse
• Also ranked No. 23 in the nation by Inside Lacrosse
