ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Five members of the University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team will attempt to qualify for the NCAA Championships at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships, Thursday through Saturday (March 12-14) at the Lancaster Aquatic Center in Lexington, Kentucky. The NCAA Championships will be held March 25-28 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The divers heading to Lexington include Kevin Bradley, Chris Canning, Jake Herremans, Nick Leavell and Ross Todd. The men will compete on three-meter Thursday (1 p.m.), one-meter Friday (1 p.m.) and platform Saturday (11 a.m.).
NCAA Championships Qualifying Procedures
The top five female and top four male divers from each event at their respective zone diving meet will be eligible to compete at the NCAA Championships. Additional place finishers in each event at each zone will be eligible based on the number of student-athletes from that zone who finished in the top 16 in that event at the previous year's NCAA Championships. All eligible divers must have achieved the zone qualifying score prior to the NCAA Championships in all events they wish to participate.
For the men, in total, Zone C is allotted seven spots on both one-meter and three-meter, and 10 spots on platform.
Any diver that qualifies for the NCAA Championships will be allowed to optionally enter any other event(s) at the championships, provided that the diver finished in the top 12 at the same zone meet and has achieved the zone qualifying score for that event prior to the NCAA Championships.

Quick Hits
• Ross Todd and Jake Herremans both qualified for the NCAA Championships last year, giving U-M two-or-more diving qualifiers for the first time since 1999 (Brett Willmot, Josh Trexler).
• Ross Todd is coming off a fantastic week at the Big Ten Championships (Feb. 26-29 in Bloomington, Indiana.), capturing three medals to earn Big Ten Co-Diver of the Championships. He was Big Ten champion on one-meter -- the program's first Big Ten champion diver since Jason Coben (2004) -- to go along with a silver medal on three-meter and a bronze medal on platform.
• Jake Herremans will dive for the fourth time at zones. He qualified for the NCAA Championships last year on one-meter. Herremans is the school record-holder on one-meter, and ranks third in program history on both three-meter and platform.
• Chris Canning had a breakout meet at the Big Ten Championships, making the final on one-meter (eighth), while also recording top-12 finishes on three-meter (10th) and platform (11th).
• This week marks the first NCAA Zone Diving meet for freshmen Kevin Bradley and Nick Leavell. Bradley, who did not dive at Big Tens, reached his qualifying score on one-meter, while Leavell has his on three-meter. Both men are slated to compete in all three events at zones.
