ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team (16-9, 7-7 Big Ten) returns to Crisler Center for its penultimate home game, hosting Illinois (11-14, 2-12 Big Ten) on Wednesday night (Feb. 19) at 7 p.m.
• The Wolverines are second in the Big Ten in rebounding margin at +6.8. U-M has outrebounded its opponent 19 times this season, going 15-4 in those games. Illinois is last in the Big Ten in rebounding margin at -6.8. Michigan has three players grabbing at least 4.9 rebounds per game in Naz Hillmon (8.4 rpg), Akienreh Johnson (6.3 rpg) and Amy Dilk (4.9 rpg).
• Michigan has hit the home stretch of its schedule, with just four games remaining in the regular season. U-M hosts Illinois in Wednesday night's game before hitting the road for two straight at Michigan State (Feb. 23) and at Penn State (Feb. 27). U-M will wrap up the regular season at Crisler Center on March 1, hosting Indiana.
• Michigan is in eighth place in the Big Ten with a 7-7 record, a half-game behind Purdue at 8-7. U-M is No. 35 in the latest RPI from the NCAA, totaling four top 50 wins so far this season. Michigan's strength of schedule is No. 14 and the Big Ten is the No. 2-rated conference nationally.
• Michigan is playing its penultimate home game against Illinois at Crisler Center, where the Wolverines are 11-3 this season. U-M has recorded double-digit wins at home in seven of head coach Kim Barnes Arico's eight seasons in Ann Arbor.
• Illinois (11-14, 2-12 B1G) is coming off a 70-58 loss against Purdue on Sunday (Feb. 16). The Illini are averaging 62.9 points per game on 37.5 percent shooting while allowing 70.9 points per game on 42.7 percent shooting. Illinois has one player averaging double-digit points per game in redshirt junior Petra Holešínská, who is averaging 14 points per game. Despite a hot start and a 9-2 non-conference record, the Illini sit 13th in the Big Ten with a 2-12 conference record. Michigan has won four straight against Illinois.
• The last time these two teams played was on Feb. 17, 2019, with Michigan taking the game, 70-56. U-M scored 41 second-half points and never trailed after taking the lead early in the third quarter. The Wolverines had four players reach double-figure scoring, with Kayla Robbins leading with 15.
