
Wolverines to Open Dual Season at No. 9 Ohio State

The No. 4-ranked University of Michigan men's gymnastics team will open dual-meet season on Saturday (Feb. 1) when it takes on No. 9 Ohio State at noon in Columbus. The matchup will be streamed live on BTN Plus from OSU's brand new Covelli Center.
Wolverine Bites
• U-M enters the meet ranked No. 6 in the RoadToNationals rankings with a team score average of 400.000, while the Buckeyes rank No. 5 in the RTN team rankings with a score of 401.300.
• Michigan ranks in the top-six nationally on four events, highlighted by a No. 2 ranking on high bar (66.700), and No. 3 ranking on vault (70.700).
• Junior Cameron Bock ranks in the top-five on three events, checking in at No. 3 on pommel horse (14.000), No. 2 on vault (14.750), and a No. 5 ranking on parallel bars (14.100). The 2019 Big Ten all-around champion, Bock also ranks second in the country in the all-around (83.15).
• Other U-M gymnasts ranked in the top 10 on individual events include junior Nick Guy on vault (7th, 14.450), junior Jonathan Liu on high bar (3rd, 13.750), and freshman Paul Juda (10th, 13.600) on high bar.
• At the Windy City Invitational, U-M debuted seven gymnasts, including five freshmen: Paul Juda, Adam Wooten, Markus Shears, David Willett, and Casey Cummings. Junior Alan Gerdov and sophomore Casey Wentland also debuted in Chicago.
• Ohio State has competed in two meets this season, scoring a 397.600 on Jan. 18 against Oklahoma and Arizona State, and most recently suffered a narrow 405.900-405.000 defeat against Penn State on Jan. 25. Ohio State is No. 3 on floor exercise (69.800), as well as No. 4 on pommel horse (67.050) and high bar (67.550).
• The Buckeyes are led by sophomore Jesse Tyndall, who ranks in the top-20 on floor exercise (7th, 14.325), parallel bars (10th, 14.100), and No. 18 on high bar (13.350)
• Last season, U-M rolled to a 413.900-402.700 victory over the Buckeyes at Cliff Keen Arena. U-M won five of six events as a team, while Bock won both parallel bars and still rings. U-M leads, 22-10, in the all-time series with Ohio State.

Wolverines to Host NCAA Championships
Michigan will host the nation's top collegiate gymnasts when the 2020 NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships come to Ann Arbor on Friday and Saturday, April 17-18 at Crisler Center.

This will be the fourth time U-M has hosted a men's gymnastics national championships. Michigan also hosted the event in 1951, 1971 and 2014 with the latter pair being held at Crisler Center.
