
Michigan Receives NCAA At-Large Berth, First-Round Date with Dartmouth

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The University of Michigan men's tennis will travel to Baylor for NCAA Regional action, the National Collegiate Athletic Association announced Monday (April 29) as the 2019 tournament field was revealed. The Wolverines (17-8), who received their fourth straight NCAA bid, will play Dartmouth in first-round action at 3 p.m. CDT Friday (May 3) at Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.
With a victory over the Big Green, the Wolverines would advance to the second round to face the winner of Utah and No. 6 overall seed Baylor on Saturday (May 4) at 6 p.m. CDT.
Michigan completed the regular season with a 17-8 record and placed fourth in the Big Ten Conference standings at 7-4. U-M is coming off a semifinal finish at last weekend's Big Ten Tournament (April 26-29), where it earned a quarterfinal victory over Indiana (4-1) before falling to eventual tournament champion Ohio State (4-2).
Michigan is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive season and 39th overall in program history. The Wolverines are in search of their second consecutive trip to the round of 16 and fifth since 1980.
The regional winner advances to the super regional round, which will be hosted at the higher seed.
